NAME Day
Saturday, October 3rd, 2026
NAME Day occurs annually on the first Saturday in October. The purpose of designating this special day is to unite and involve all members by doing the same project, on the day at different locations throughout the US and internationally. Participation in an event may occur locally, statewide, regionally, or on-line.
Details for 2026 will be added as they become available.
NAME Day 2026
Time to Relax
After all of that gardening in 2025, it is “Time to Relax”. Maybe take a snooze, read a book, snuggle with a pet. The 2026 project will have a slightly different design offering some new angles for this annual event.
Just like 2025, the NAME Day Committee hopes that this is a month of learning new techniques to learn. As always, look for more information in upcoming Gazettes.
As always, if you are interested in being a future cutter or to be a part of this committee, contact Barbara Thorton-Hill at bathca@gmail.com.
The project for 2026 is: “Time to Relax” and is pictured in 1/4” scale without any finishing. Some photos also showing plain foam cushions.
So how will you? With a good book? Maybe to knit or do needlework. Or have a glass of wine overlooking a tuscan landscape? Do you see a formal setting or a grandkid space filled with toys and children’s books? Or maybe you are hanging out with your pets (like a bunny…) or a place to sit when stargazing. Wendy may have had this same view when waiting for Peter Pan.
Although the base kit doesn’t look like much now, just think of the many possibilities. Will you hang a single light or add wall sconces? Perhaps change the look with a bookcase or shelves filled with knick knacks??
Here is some inspiration.
First is the base basic kit in quarter scale. The basic kit and the light green are completed by Liz West.
Connie Reagan completed her blue version with the daybed and an option without.
And lastly, Beth Grabau completed a sample with a changed ceiling in the maximalism design style.
